Well that was my thought process with having 4 queen's chance of genetic diversity though not garrentied is possible but wasn't sure if the ants would see it that way coming from the same nest. Ether way good information to know.

Myrmica elates
So my myrmica colony is around 2 years old started with 4 queen's this is the first summer I have seen elates within the nesting setup. I havnt been able to find much information on the subject. In theory in my mind they could breed in nest creating more queen's as likely multiple genetic egg layers...

Ial add she is about 6mm long almost all compleatly black if not slightly brown with brownish/red leg tips if that helps anything

So wial out on a hunt in the usual area (North east England were i find lasius, formica, myrmica i found this little one scurrying around today. U may be right from what I can see the small reddish brown ants do not seem to have they spines (though the still winged one is hard to tell) they have me baffled. Based in top end of northern england had a good 2 days I think First off ants 1 and 2 are both just over 5mm I'm thinking myrmica but rubica or ruginodis ? Ants 3 and 4 are both just over 10mm so from what I'm told I beleave both are formica fusca. However possible lasius Niger considering they both...

From research would I be correct in thinking lasius Niger and lasius flavus? The black one looks like a Formica sp queen to me. It could be Formica Fusca.
