Hey guys,
I've been struggling for a while with my modoc queen, and slowly but surely she's lost all her workers. Looking to purchase pupae (as many as possible) and i'll pay a premium.
Anyone who has any pupae their colony could do without they would be VERY APPRECIATED.
Thanks!

Re: Only one species
Near Mnt. Timp I have seen maaaany modoc queens on my hikes in late April - early May. Honestly if you drive up provo canyon and stop at any of the small hikes, you should be able to find some. Last year there were too many to count the last week of april. So many that you had to watch out to try an...

Re: My camponotus colony won't grow
I'm right there with you guys. My Camponotus Moduc queen is down to one worker going into this 3rd year, but her brood clutch looks good. I'm not 100% what I'm doing wrong, but I'm going to try feeding them a variety of sugars and proteins from now on. I think Camponotus queens are just temperamenta...

Re: My camponotus colony won't grow
Hey there! I have a camponotus modoc queen who is entering year 3. I’m kind of on the same boat, went into hibernation with 8 workers, only 3 survived into this year. She has been laying, and has quite the brood clutch, but yes, they are slow growing. I’ll keep you updated on how it’s going.

What kind of ant??
I caught this queen in the backyard, she is very small and her Nanitics are about the size of a flea, if not smaller! They are so tiny I can barely see them.
Queen is all black.
What kind of ant species do I have??

Re: Queen left behind
So there isn’t really a situation where they would leave the queen behind?

Hey everyone, Fairy new to ant keeping (<6 months). I have a colony of componotus modoc who have about 6 workers and about 30 brood. This colony is in year 2, as I purchased it from someone.
