Re: Can ants see through red plastic film?
I've searched google and asked on a couple of forums, but haven't been able to get an answer to this so maybe it is just a dumb question. I watched a video that said ants couldn't see light through red plastic film, but the guy making the video said he was really new to this too so not sure. Here i...

Some n00b questions
Hey y'all, Just had a couple of questions that I couldn't find quick answers to elsewhere: How often do ants tend to eat? Re: The Ant Namers Group!
Ehh ants? I am guessing queen antigone will raise a brood of ant magicians? Now you see me... Antelope for quick ants? Or the ones who sneak off with male elates? Anteater for vampiric ants? Ante for poker playing ants... Looooooooool, those are some good ones, but I think I'll stick with name-name...

My 2 Lasius niger are Queen Antonia and Queen Antoinette, and my Tetramorium caespitum is Queen Antigone. Can you guess the theme yet?

Re: Walked up to me in the park yesterday, London UK
i'd say your spot on there looks like a pavement ant to me, must of been the ant gods at work whispering in that queens subgenual organ  Hehehe, I are very lucky, and also a SMRT. Ever since the Lasius niger flights I've kept a few containers on my keyring for just such an occasion, coz you ne...

Walked up to me in the park yesterday, London UK
Can you guys help me identify this ant? The research I have done suggests a Tetramorium caespitum queen. What do you guys think? If it is a tetramorium, I assume it's a queen because it doesn't have the segmented butt that the male is supposed to have, nor two sets of wings, I think. It's about 6mm ...
