I’m thinking Lasius Niger I don't know about that, from the photo from above you can see the width her head is just a bit bigger than her thorax. Sorry for the slow reply. She is much smaller than my Camponotus Herculeanus, like half the size so about 1cm. The side of her gaster is kind of wavy so after looking so more I think she might be Formica Neogagates as they also have a wavy pattern. I can get a better picture now that she is in a bet...

I caught this lady outside of work last week and am just curious on her proper identification. This will be my first colony and as such I am well aware that I lack proper skills at identification.
