Re: Mass Nanatic transfer
Well one of my three multi queen tetramorium colonies finally had their battle for power. Unfortunately both were mortally wounded, both were missing multiple legs and antenna. They were still alive but the colony would be unlikely to survive. They had 21 nanatics and around 20-30 brood mostly larv...

Re: Wingless queens in nest???
Not a newly founded colony as I mentioned it numbers into the 3,000-5,000 worker range. More or less they fill 3 AC testubes, 2 AC mini outworlds and an AC hybrid nest in addition to a few hundred who chill in the AC outworld. I have read that queens can sometimes shed wings if unmated. There are st...

Re: Welcome back to the Camponotus Crew! (New topic, old one got too long)
Yay my camponotus queen has 3 nanatics now. The workers have yet to venture from the tube however. I fear its because my large Tetramorium colony is close by and the workers roam the table freely (Didnt realize I needed to seal the AC outworld bottom lol)

Wingless queens in nest???
Early in the summer I brood boosted my tetramorium immigrans. Through doing that I acquired a number of queens and kings. I boosted from 4 colonies so not all the queens/kings were directly related. They attempted to fly in my AC outworld for several weeks before I thought they had died off judging ...

Finally managed to capture 2 seperate species of camponotus queens. Both have laid eggs although it took them longer than I would have liked lol.

Update again
Well my 2 queen Tetramorium Immigrans experiment ended in failure once again. When they moved test tubes the queens became seperated and as I prophesized this created actual issues not only with the queens becoming aggressive towards each other but workers actually fighting. One queen was clearly th...

Re: Test tube portal questions.
Small bit of dirt won't hurt. My colony of Tetramorium Immigrans used the dirt to help block the tube entrance as well as form what amounts to a ramp to the opening. It has 2 portals connected with some distance between... the further one is essentially their nest entrance. As far as light vs dark m...

Update on the 2 Queen Tetramorium Immigrans
So they have finally decided to move out of the founding tube into a fresh one. Since I over did it in brood boosting the entire brood can't fit into one tube so there is still a good amount in the other tube. However the queens have seperated. There is now one in each tube. Both queens are being ca...

Re: Video of my 2 Queen Tetramorium Immigrans
I haven't tried to push them out of their founding test tube so ignore the fact that the cotton is moldy... its long dried up lol. Don't want to stress them out because I still doubt they will keep both queens. The other tube in the video I have kept covered and its fresh but they just started using...

Video of my 2 Queen Tetramorium Immigrans

As its extremely rare that this species contain multiple queens after founding here's a video of my colony at nearly a year old. Not the best quality and a 3rd tube with brood is off camera.
