Do Camponotus Pensylvanicus drone lay when unfertilized?
Question in title. For context I found a Pennsylvanicus queen and I took my last look at her for a while to see if she laid eggs. She had, but I wanted to know if this species drone lays if unfertilized.

Crazy Situation
I live in Ohio where the ants do hibernate, and usually they would be right now. It’s been hot recently and I noticed that a small colony of Tetramorium was up and about from under the air conditioner in my Spanish class. I would love to catch the colony, but it’s under the AC where nothing could re...

Re: minimal amount of ants that can be placed in a formicarium
Depends on the species. Tetramorium needs up to 30 to be safe, but with larger species you could do less. What do you have?

Soil setup for founding?
Would I be able to house a Camponotus Pennsylvanicus in a jar full of dirt? If I were to spray it every few days to keep it looking moist would that be a working setup? I want to try something new, possibly give the ant a more natural setup, and also ran out of test tubes.

How many Tetramorium Immigrans Workers?
I have a Tetramorium Immigrans queen with currently 7 workers. Since they’re a smaller species I know that 20 workers might be a few two few to succeed in a hybrid nest and outworld, but would 30 workers be sufficient?

Valve Connecter Female Tubing Size?
What tubing size connects to the valve connecter female? I’m getting large tubing to attach a Outworld to a Hybrid Nest but one side is going to have a t connecter. Since T connectors only attach to large, will I also have to get small to attach to the valve, or does the large work?

What type of tubing comes with the hybrid nest?
It’s in the name. I’m wondering if it’s large tubing, in which case I won’t need to buy more tubing to attach a T piece. Also is large tubing the one that connects to female valve connectors? Thanks.

How would this setup work?
My goal is to have a setup where I have a hybrid nest with a valve connection connecting to a constricted adapter connected to water tube, having the tubing that comes with the hybrid nest attaching to the outworld (cut in half of course so there are two exits to the outworld), one of which has a T ...
