I also understand they could climb the corners, but would they be able to get past a PTFE barrier using the corners?

I don’t know why I wouldn’t want sand, but that’s the point. It means they will always have that extra option to use for something I wouldn’t want.

I mean that no matter what you do they will always have some sand in their setup that they can put in places you might not want it to be.

I understand that they can climb the glass, my question is if they could easily escape using the corners of a standard aquarium.

I was considering possibly using a standard ten gallon aquarium as an outworld for my Tetramorium Immigrans, however I have a few questions. Would they be able to climb the corners? If so, is there any barrier that can prevent that? If not, should I look into getting a round tank? Also is there any ...

What I mean is that once they take sand in there that’s it, that’s sand is basically going to be in their setup forever.

Thanks! I don’t know if I want to use sand because as soon as you put something the ants can move there’s really no going back.
