Re: Queen Identification Romania 28/06 possibly liometopum microcephalum?

This Queen is possibly Liometopum Microcephalum. Body shape does match images I see on google. Only for sure way to tell is to take closer, clear images to the best of your ability. To identify the Queen properly, clear images of the ant is needed to look at features of its body. For instance: Anten...

Re: Queens found in Utah on June 13th

To be more specific on the species is impossible without looking at the exact features of their bodies. Antenna, Abdomen, Thorax, etc. They are definetely Camponotus spp. based on the pictures you've provided. To roughly estimate what they are exactly: Camponotus Pennsylvanicus The video I provided ...

Re: Queens found in Utah on June 13th

All Queens based on the images you've provided are of the Camponotus spp. This is based on the assumption that the ruler in the images is based on centimeters, rather than inches. Furthermore, Camponotus spp. usually have their nuptial flights during this time in North America, which supports all of...

Re: Queen ant found on June 27th 2019 in WV

My best guess to identify what type of ant she is will be inaccurate. Without closer clear images, and a close measurement of the ant's length, it is difficult to identify what type of ant it is. To better estimate what species it is, usually close images of its body is needed to look at specific fe...

Re: Is this a queen?

This looks to be of a worker. Its gaster isnt enlarged, and picture isnt of best quality for me to look at its abdomen. Based on its gaster (butt) I would say this is a worker. Dont feel discouraged tho, You can still catch a newley mated Queen Ant. Here are some resources to help you: How to Identi...
