Caught a flight of camponotus pennsylvanicus on 6/6/19 after a rain. Caught 6queens from the flight after they landed. And could have had more but ran out of containers! Live in western Ky, Paducah to be exact. Good time to be out for camponotus.

Haha, yeah, I’ve no idea either.

What about the the queen in the last pictures? Any idea on that one?

Identifying is hard, help again please!

So I went back out today and caught another queen (hopefully not a male alate) the last 2 pictures linked are the queen and I’m having trouble identifying. She was caught in Kentucky USA on June 3 early afternoon and is about 1cm long. The first set of pictures was a strange ant that I picked up but...

Lasius interjectus actually looks a lot like it. I think you may be correct with that. I will try to get some better pictures tonight and will upload them. Thanks a lot!

Identification Help

I just caught this ant today in Kentucky 5/30/19 and need help with identifying it. I am not sure if it is a queen or a male alate because I’m new to the hobby and this is the first potential queen I’ve caught.
