Re: Help Identifying 4 Queens
One of my Queens from #1 has unfortunately died. All is well though, it happens. I have many others of this species and another queen has adopted her eggs. On the bright side it has given me the chance for better photos for identifying it. https://i.imgur.com/7GLsXfRr.jpg https://i.imgur.com/QdB1N2N...

I noticed she was walking kinda funny and she looked like she was carrying something in her mouth, which is always interesting to see, so I bent down to take a closer look... Here's what I saw: https://im...

Re: queen ant randomly died?
She probably ingested pesticide before you caught her. I caught two queens in the same area and both died mysteriously after a few minutes, I later discovered that it was because the area I caught them in was treated with pesticide.

Help Identifying 4 Queens
Hello, I have recently captured four ant queens that I would like help identifying. If you know the genus and species, that would be great! If you only know the genus, that still helps me out. If you need better photos let me know and I'll see if I can get them, some of the ants are really tiny and ...

Re: Queens trying to escape test tubes
Ah, I see. At first I thought they might be suffocating or something due to the way a couple of them were frantically trying rip through the cotton. Thank you for setting my mind at ease.

Queens trying to escape test tubes
Hello, I'm new to ant keeping and I just caught my first queens which I am keeping in a test tube setup. I have been checking on the periodically and recently they are pretty intent on escaping their tubes. They keep tugging at the cotton and trying to squeeze out between the cotton and the tube. Do...
