What Part of Kentucky? Also where are you looking?
I’m from a small town in eastern KY, it’s a heavily wooded area, so I’m finding them along the road where I live.

Camponotus nuptials have finally started here in KY. Found two over the weekend, one has already laid a couple eggs.

My best guess is Camponotus

Found my first ever queen today, this little lady is about 8mm. I think she may be some species of Camponotus, but any help will be appreciated.

Depending on where they where caught, it may be Solenopsis. They exist mostly in southern parts of KY. I do see the resemblance, and am inclined to agree.

Hello all

Hi ant world, I have recently come across AntsCanada on YouTube and became instantly hooked. I’ve been preparing for the spring nuptial flights here in KY, and can’t wait to catch my first queens. Wish me luck :D
