My guess is Camponotus pennsylvanicus. Sounds like they have golden eggs! Good news if this is a correct ID

Curious about these yellow eggs. You seem to only have a few. Just looked at my queen a week after capture. She now has eggs!!!... BUT all are yellow.

Anyone know what this means? I'm doing research but cannot find a definite answer.
