Re: Queen caught in Barcelona, Spain 12mm November-ish
Update, in case anyone is interested: The queen is alive and well, I have since about a week or so moved her to a warmer spot 24-27 degrees. The brood has grown a lot since doing that. I added some slightly crushed birdseed to the tube, she seem to have eaten a sunflower pip Here is a video of her g...

Re: Queen caught in Barcelona, Spain 12mm November-ish
I had a little look around now that I have an approximate id and after reading this message https://forum.AntsCanada.com/viewtopic.php?p=67320#p67320 decided to check up and try to offer her a sliver of almond. She went straight for it after sliding it past the cotton stopper!

I have been checking up on her every week or so, ke...

Queen caught in Barcelona, Spain 12mm November-ish
Hi guys and girls, I caught a queen late last year, I think around November. After having watched a fair bit of AntsCanada on Youtube, and seeing the size of her, I kept her. She showed up on the tiled floor in the back garden, suburban area, in between the sea and mountains. I initially put her in ...

[Barcelona, Spain] Queens id, polygonous?
Hey, Would someone be able to provide an ID on these queens? They are from an established colony. We seem to be having a lot of these kind of ants around the house we are staying, after a feeding session in the kitchen, I noticed these two queens moving in from elsewhere towards the nesting location...
