Queen not drinking water.

I purchased a queen and when the guy gave her to me she already has a bunch of eggs but she was out of water in the tube he gave to me. When I got home like a week and a half ago I taped a 2nd tube to the first one, but there are no signs shes drank at all from it. I tried to point a lamp over the f...

Not about the schedual but

I was wondering if there was any type of species similar to Carebara Diversa in the United States. I love how big their majors and queens are! Sorry if this was wrong area to post this

Re: My ant sertup

I'd love to see a video of the colony in this setup if you have one in it yet, awesome stuff. I like that you connected the two outworlds directly, probably makes for cool little "ant highways".

I think it would, but you have to watch out for ants crawling through the screen.
[The thing I was hoping what would combat that would be like a baby powder solution on the ceiling and a little of the walls.]

Solenopsis outworld

I wish I had enough money to buy an outworld 2.0, but sadly its just too far out of my price range. I was coming here to ask if yall thought this https://www.antkeepingdepot.com/collections/outworlds/products/empire-of-ants-acrylic-outworld-d would work well.

Re: Buying my first colony soon hopefully, need help.

Okay, so what I've decided is going the completely homemade way to just save up for a super nice setup when my ants need it. I think I'm going to buy a 14 slot pill sorter thing that you see people use in movies. It's two rows of 7 spaces and each of the spaces opens individually so 14 lids. I was t...

Re: Buying my first colony soon hopefully, need help.

the ant's Canada hybrid nests are under $60 and you can just use tubaware for the outworld, or just thinking about it you could just use all tubaware. for one of my colonies I use a Red Vine container that I ate all the red vine [With using a tubaware I would just be worried about ventilation and h...

Re: Buying my first colony soon hopefully, need help.

I've been up all night looking stuff up haha  and I came across some "do it yourself" options like cement and stuff. The only thing with that is the fact id have to make a whole new one after a while to due to the substance molding or something. I think this is a good option for me, (https://w...

Re: Buying my first colony soon hopefully, need help.

I was thinking a 10-gallon fish tank (I found one for $24), with a tube leading from the bottom of the tank through mesh I would use at the top of the tank leading to a cheaper alternative for a hybrid nest. I'm looking for help with finding these cheaper alternatives, help with all the soils and fi...

Buying my first colony soon hopefully, need help.

Hi, I am buying my first colony staring with Dorymyrmex Sp. I really want this to work out but I'm currently in college and as much as id like to buy a starter kit from AntsCanada I can't afford it. I've been looking for cheaper alternatives but I don't trust myself %100 to choose what's right. My b...
