For me tetramorium tend to start flying in june, july, and august in the early morning. I wake up right before school and walk outside to my court, and I see tons of queens and males on the ground, flying or on cars. Yes, they are still flying. They are known to fly up to April, I think, as last year in late spring I saw hordes of Prenolepis Imparis flying at my school. A usual time I got hunting for prenolepis imparis is around 2:30 if there isn't too much sun. I recommend going to a big, leafy park. I would not recommend taking 5 or more in a test tube, as I did that twice and most of the queens were dying. I still don't know the reason. Finally, go out hunting a...

i found a winged queen two weeks ago. 5/10 i found a queen that shedded her wings. i found a male before that. Can you tell me what time of the day they fly? i found the queen at like 6 o clock

ID Please This is a really small queen or worker
So I caught this worker/queen while my sister was going to her friends house. Its a little smaller than a tetramorium worker. Head and thorax is red. Gaster is black and triangle shaped. I am in Northern California.
