Not sure of the species.. but it's posture and position in those pictures, coupled with the white "fluffy stuff" on its body screams CORDYCEPS to me! #AmateurOpinion

They don't look like the particular honeypot species that I'm familiar with, in terms of their coloration etc ... but those 'stripes' and the size of some of their gasters made me think repletes!? Aussie Aussie Aussie

Thanks for the response cal... but I figured it out (kinda) about 5 minutes after my initial post.. then about another hour and 5 and I finally worked out how to upload a pic of the ant I'm trying to identify lol

Finally.. ugh.. unfortunately that's the only picture I have.. that pic is in focus (insert snorts of derision here lol), but doesn't do justice to the coloration.. it's like the first 2 segments were a tan-ie brown and its gaster was black! Any ideas?

Please help me identify this species... no need for everyone to write "it's hard to tell from a picture" because I'm well aware of that... but any feedback would be much appreciated...
