Re: All of my antkeeping mistakes that led to a disaster!
The same thing happened to me! I also have lasius niger, and now all that's left is the queen! She just wanders around the outworld and occasionally eats. Just keep her safe and fed. Hopefully both our queens will make it!

Ant Colony Emergency!
My colony of Lasius Niger is not doing well.
Long story short, the queen had around 30 workers when i moved her into the nest. Now she has 2.
I've given them protein syrup, ant nectar, and water, and they aren't eating it. What can i do to save them? (If anything)

Nest moving help
I have a colony of L. Niger that I want to move into a new nest. I've hooked up their new nest to the old one, but they haven't gone in yet. Also, their old one is a sand nest that i can't see inside. Any ideas?

Re: Myrmica rubra - European Fire Ant Care
Well, for starters, 3 queens could get out of hand quickly. Fire ants can have massive colonies so you might want to start with one. 1. When they're in the test tube, the best way to give them water is to put water in the end, with a cotton ball in front of it. That way the water soaks through the c...

Re: A discussion on feeding ants protein in liquid form
I purchased it from Anthouse: https://www.anthouse.es/en/comida-para-hormigas/224-10ml-protein-syrup-for-queens-and-young-colonies-food-anthouse.html
It's from Spain though, but mine only took around a week.

Re: A discussion on feeding ants protein in liquid form
I've had a colony of Lasius Niger for around 6 months now, and I knew from the beginning I WASN'T going to feed them bugs. So I've fed them protein syrup and they're doing great.
Hope this helps!

Re: 2 Questions!
I think Solonopsis Invicta have killed humans, but that was an allergic reaction. And, sorry, I'm not sure about the bull ants, but maybe their nest should have a lid. Maybe with a latch. And a moat. And baby powder.
