Re: Multiple Myrmica sp Queen Help

To elaborate further on this: Q1 used to be the dominant female or so it appeared and would snip at Q2 here and but nothing really came out of it. But ever since Q2 laid a batch of eggs first, aggression levels between Q1 and Q2 skyrocketed within the last 36 hrs which made Q1 hide in their outworld...

Multiple Myrmica sp Queen Help

So I have a dilemma. I had 2 Myrmica sp. queens together in a test tube connected to an outworld setup. After one of them began laying eggs, they’ve both been fighting with each other, like full blown wrestling and dragging each other around kind of fighting. After I saw this, I ended up separating ...

Re: Semi Claustral Queens, help

So with the help of an ant keeping discord, I was able to narrow down what my 3 queens were. I have 1 Lasius latipes/murphyi/brevicornis (not sure which, just narrowed it down) and 2 Myrmica rubra/stenamma/myrmecina (same as the first.) I live in Minot, North Dakota and caught them 1 week ago. I fo...

North Dakota, 18 October Q2

Looking for help on ID'ing her specific species. She was found along with her sister at 1pm on the side walk and it was 75 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Located at Minot, ND. She's about 7mm in length. Thanks!

Re: Semi Claustral Queens, help

I appreciate the advice. I was just trying to get everything into one post, I guess, haha. My pictures tend to be blurry that's why I used video but I'll try to clean it up and get better pictures for it.

My black queen's gastor got a little bigger but I think that was because when I first found her she might've been hungry/thirsty since she ra...

Have you tried taking pictures of the queens and posting them along with measurements and your location in the species identification thread? Might be able to get an exact species name.
I have, no one really responded to it, though.
