After 3 or 4 weeks of just eggs, I woke up tlthis morning o see a little worker ant. I'm still trying to get the img tags to work. Here's the link in the mean time.

I have her in a TarHeelAnts mini starter Hearth. I did start her in a test tub but she would not settle down and pulling at the cotton. Which I am aware is normal, but i live in an apartment building and can't risk her escaping.should you place her in a test tube setup

I saw my first queen last month, and unfortunately I was not ready to catch her. Going to try my luck in the forrest this week while temperatures are still good.

Yes, Myrmica rubra are easily mistaken for Solenopsis invicta, especially to people who don't care about ants and/or think every red ant is a fire ant.
