Dear Sokeren, One of the primary ways I use for determining if a solitary ant might be a queen, has to do with the size of the thorax after a mated queen has dropped her wings. Under a 10X loupe or dissecting microscope you can plainly see the wing attachment points. Just a thought I felt you might ...
