Messor Barbarus Queen

Hi guys!

I've recently got myself a Harvester Queen and I'm waiting for her to lay her eggs. I've checked on her a couple of times now but only briefly as I don't want to disturb her too much and I'm sure I can see an egg being carried in her mandibles, has anyone else experienced this?

DIY Formicarium

Hello guys, I'm looking for some advice on where I can buy plastic containers that would make good Formicariums? Ideally I would like one with the correct style of lid, allowing me to have an over hang as a barrier to stop the ants escaping (along with talc of course.) I would also like one big enou...

Lasius niger are rare in North America. Lasius americanus is the correct term for Lasius niger in North America.
I'm from the UK and believe Lasius Niger is the correct term here but I'm open to being corrected :D

Mike, UK - 1st Time Keeper!

I just wanted to introduce myself and my two queens to the forum. I'm Mike and I'm from the UK and have always had an interest in these intelligent little beings from a young age. It was thanks to the AC videos that finally made me decide I need to try and create my own colony so here I am... I woul...

Re: Lasius Niger - Multiple Queen Advice

That's what I thought but was worth checking, thanks.

I will just have to be a little more creative with my second setup in terms of size :geek:
