Re: Help, she's dying... I think

My water was clean. The cotton was getting black on the side of the ant. The ant was dead before laying any eggs, so wasn't a queen yet. There was like some mold near the head that was laying on the tube and some more on the leg that was touching the tube. I haven't got much luck so far, but will tr...

Re: Help, she's dying... I think

Well... that other one is also dead...

Thanks!

Re: Help, she's dying... I think - part 2

The last "queen" is still not dead after 1 week +. As weird as it sounds its the first time, so it means I'm doing something right. However, she still has not laid any egg. I can see she's calm, moving a little, staying close of the water. The antenna moves as well... all good thing, she's alive! Sh...

Re: Help, she's dying... I think

I dont have honey at home at the moment and I don't think water with sugar would be good either. I was maybe thinking about a little bit of strawberry jam. More sticky, fair amount of sugar and non-toxic. I did went and see my queen once so far and she was rather relax in the tube. Must resist the u...

Re: Help, she's dying... I think

That would be amazing!

As for what I know out of AntsCanada videos is that we don’t need to provide anything but water and clean tubes to Queens until they get their nanite (not sure?, the very first workers) and then you'll need to provide some form of food/nutriments.

Re: Help, she's dying... I think

Hey guys, I had a not so clean tube outside while chasing and the ant was far more relax in that one. When I transferred it into the clean one with water she got a little bit more excited for some reason. She might have not mated yet, but the reason I took her anyway is that from AntsCanada YouTube ...
