Ive learned with my colonies that certain species react to light differently. For example, my Monomoriums scramble at the sudden exposure to light while my Solenopsis continue with daily activities as usual.

What are you feeding your Solenopsis invicta colony? I have just recently started my own and they don’t seem to eat the usual crickets and sugar water that the rest of my colonies have in the past.

I’ve learned that temperature has affected my ants eating patterns. Attempting to crank up the heat a few degrees may do the trick, or even possibly placing them outside or in a garage might also be beneficial. Just did my research for my newest Monomorium minimum colony and turns out you can get (preferably) PTFE Teflon pipe lube (as opposed to ETFE). It’s only $5 at Home Depot and probably not much different elsewhere. It’s only toxic and flammable and very high temperatures as well, so you should be fin...
