- also note of advice keep sugar water away from all mealworms and mealworm beetles will do ty, curious why though, drowning? thanks for the tips, i'll try cutting a beetle in half and see what happens, my ants are itty bitty and not got the chompers for an exoskeleton i don't think (myrimica sp.)

Accidentally crushed a worker
I know this isn't quite on par with a colony loss, but i just accidentally crushed a worker to death with my suasage fingers and feel horrible. at first i thought it wasn't dead because it was still moving a lot (ganglia i guess) upon putting him in a bunch of other workers tried to get its attentio...

So i've been feeding my ants meal-worms, because they're easy to keep and breed, i was just curious though, when i have an abundance of meal-worm beetles is there any reason why i can just feed them dead beetles, i find in a small meal worm setup you either have too many worms or too many beetles an...
