Looking around at pictures of velvety tree ants has revealed that all the Carpenter nests are actually velvety tree ants!

Ant identification
I found this queen on my ceiling in late July in Oroville, california. She now has 10 baby ants crawling around and I need to know what species she is in order to know what to do next. I think she's some camponatus species considering we have many black and red camponatus nests on our property. Help...
