Re: When to move ants in a nest

The unidentified ants look KINDA like Aphaenogaster sp.(maybe Aphaenogaster kimberleyensis?) - I could be wrong and that's also assuming you're in Australia. Thanks for posting the pics, what are the ants in the last two? I got excited and thought they were honey pots for a second! The Pheiodole sho...

Re: When to move ants in a nest

What kind of nest is it? Sometimes it depends on the type (formicarium / vivarium). Pheiodoles tend to like going into nooks and crannies instead of outright having to nest. Odontomachus Clarus flights/locations

Hey all, Odontomachus clarus is my dream species for a vivarium set up - but after years of no luck finding a seller in Texas and equally no luck catching them during their nuptial flights I believe it's finally time to turn to a forum of dedicated ant lovers. I've found colonies in Galveston/Austin...

Re: Formicarium Design Questions

I'm in the exact same boat trying to track down Odontomachus Clarus - I cannot find ANYONE in Texas who has even raised any. I've even been told by an Austin seller that Clarus doesn't exist in Texas. They've always been my dream species, and I am currently creating a vivarium for them as well while...
