Am, 1 or two are cleaning their gasters, are there still flights left to take place for tetramorium?
I caught 6 tetramorium queens June 30th at about 6-7 am, there's probably going to be a flight or two in July. Keep looking!

Re: I need help finding tetramorium...

UPDATE: after asking all of you kind folk for advice, I caught 6 tetramorium queens! I set an alarm for 6:00 in the morning and was very successful finding them all at around that time. I could have caught many more but I simply don't have the space!

Re: Ant barrier

It will probably work on camponotus, but you might want to consider another barrier like petroleum jelly for tetramorium, since they're smaller. I'd still try it out though just to see if you can save some cash.

Re: Ant barrier

Depends on the type of ant. Generally smaller ants are harder to keep off of surfaces, but it's largely known that Fluon is the best ant barrier. You can buy it on Amazon.

I need help finding tetramorium...

So, within the two total years of antkeeping I've been involved in, I haven't caught a single tetramorium queen despite them being so prevalent in my area(s)! What am I doing wrong? I usually go out at around 10:30 to 11:00 am to look, and spend about an hour or two doing so. This summer has been ve...

I caught 3 tetramorium with wings at around 7:45, is this too soon, or is this already after mating. None of them have taken of their wings, I caught them on Wednesday.
7:45 am or pm?

Re: This is a Tetramorium queen... right?

I've considered this as well, but I can't find a specific species group that matches her looks. I'll keep searching though. Also, do the images worj correctly if at all? My phone displays them distorted. Thank you!

This is a Tetramorium queen... right?

Hello! My queen has just produced her first (and only) nanitic, and I'm wondering if she's actually a Tetramorium or if I've been bamboozling myself this entire time. This queen has only produced a handful of eggs, and recently has only allowed one to live for whatever reason, which has now develope...
