Idaho nuptial flight

I live in Boise Idaho and know that Lasius Neoniger will be flying here in September. The only luck I have is pretty much just catching a ton of Tetramorium and only one Pogo queen. I understand I have missed the Camp. flight but can still get prepared for Lasius. If anyone is near Idaho or in any t...

Re: Nuptial flight

Thank you so much! I have been doing research and heard they have a second nuptial flight in August? I live in Idaho and don’t really know where to look except a walk way by our river. Thank you though!

Nuptial flight

So I know in the U.S Camponotus species have had their nuptial flight in the bulk of May but is it still possible to find queens? I have always wanted a camponotus queen but have only found one two years ago. Any advice as to where to go that’d be great! I’m only use to Tetramorium and Pogo’s at the...

As for the Pogos..I am very worried. I was feeding them fresh seeds a lot and hydrating them. I knew that the queen did...

Pogonomyrmex help

I hope everyone is having a terrific day, I am here because I caught a pogonomyrmex Salinus Queen (to my extent due to there only being two native species in Idaho) and I have her in a little formicarium with a water tower built in and digging sand. I believe it was around July 15th when I caught he...

Natural formicarium

So I am new to the ant keeping lifestyle and absolutely enjoy it! I have a pogonomyrmex Queen and a tetramorium Queen. I plan on making an all natural formicarium just one tiny problem. I don’t know what soil is good! I live in Idaho so more towards the west coast. That is the only challenge I am fa...
