Hello all ant keepers of Southern California,
I’m wondering where specifically you guys and gals go looking for queens during nuptial flight season. I’ve only got a few spots I actively check would love to add to my list. Thank you!

Argentine Ants Semi or Fully Claustral?
Hey fellow ant keepers,
I just caught a few queens from the Argentine ant colony living in my backyard and put them in a test tube setup. I was wondering if anyone knew if they are semi-claustral or fully-claustral. Thanks!

Re: San Diego Sighting
Hi SDBees, I'm still very new to ant keeping as well so I probably won't have anything new to offer you. It is cool that there are fellow San Diegan's on here. Let's keep each other updated on the ant's going on's in San Diego.

San Diego Sighting
Pognomyrmex sp. flew yesterday evening on August 4. Seems like this species checks the air before flight at around the same time every day, 6:30 pm. Might be a localized flight because of some sprinklers going off on the field the day before.
