Thanks. Is it strange that it's walking along a sidewalk in late Sept? I have a mated Camp. Penn. that I caught late spring...

Super major or late queen?

Hello AC! Just found this guy yesterday (cold rainy day in Western PA - 9/25). 13-15mm. A little late for a Camponotus queen, no? I have a colony going from a queen I found in May of this year, same area. Am I mistaking a super major for a queen?? https://i.imgur.com/N1dIU9M.jpg https://i.imgur.com/...

Re: Pre-hibernation test tube hydration issues

Thanks for your input Joe, I know this sounds stupid, but it's really difficult to tell. It seems that the moisture comes right up to the interior of the cotton, but I just can't seem to explain how in over 3.5 months at 85 degrees there would be no visible loss of water on the reservoir side. Re: Western PA ID assistance please.

May be sacrilege but I'm partial to Aliens the most. Something about the space marine crew just does it.

Haha, you need to post that tattoo.

BTW, re: queens on the can of iced tea. No way they are fertile if congregated like that, right?

Re: Western PA ID assistance please.

My fav. films. Perhaps that's the basis for the ant attraction or vice versa.
