Dubia roaches endurance

How cold can Blaptica Dubia's (dubia roaches) survive in? I know they do not hibernate, and need around 80-90 Fahrenheit to breed. But can i have them around without much of a heat source other than having them indoors? I live in sweden, so it gets around 60 Fahrenheit indoors during winter. I'm fin...

Re: Beginner Ant Keeping Tips for Lasius Niger

Yes, i'd definitely say that Lasius Niger is a good species for beginners. They grow fast-ish and aren't that high maintenance. They are also very durable, which is part of the reason why they are found universally. Also, i'd say just catch one yourself, i just stepped out of my house for half an ho...

I'm not sure what ant species i got.

Ok, so i have three of the same queens and they all have workers. At first i thought they were all Camponotus Fallax ants, but upon closer inspection, im not so sure. pictures of the species indicate that the workers are about half the size of the queen, whereas my workers are barely longer than hal...

Best ant barrier?

What is the best substance used for barriers, when considering cost and efficiency?

Baby powder, baby powder and rubbing alcohol, fluon, or other?

What else do ants forage for?

Ive gotten a colony of camponotus fallax, they are still in a testube. However, even though they have honey, they keep clawing at the cotton. Is there something that i am forgetting? they are only ten workers strong, so i dont think theyre ready for a cricket leg.

Re: Camponotus Egg Development?

I just caught myself two Camponotus Fallax queens myself. Because of the fact that i wont be able to tell if they are fertilized or not until the first batch of brood develops, ive caught as many as i could (which was only two) The first batch will most likely develop in a little bit more than a mon...
