They arnt queens, if you look up camponotus castaneus queens they look much different. The ants you caught look like workers to me. If im wrong anyone else can correct me.

I cant tell from the photo that well but it doesnt look like a queen to me, maybe get another person to answer b4 u come to a conclusion.

Yep the worker is definetly a camponotus worker, a major probably. The queen in the pictures is indeed tetramorium immigrans.

So in vancouver the best places to look are at nature parks. Or areas with lots of greenery like vancouver island. Down in richmond I go to the richmond nature park. Camponotus are flying currently but not for much longer. They usually fly around April/may and late july/August. The best times to go ...

This is definetly a camponotus queen, i cant tell that well from the picture. But the legs kinda look like a red brown color it could possibly be camponotus modoc. Thats my guess at least.

Those look all like workers to me, queens are usually much larger and havea bigger abdomen and thorax or messoma. Correct me if im wrong.
