Re: Hi all

Meant no offence, I did believe you over the antwiki anyway. Just trying to help with what tools I can find and with what I can see. Its always best to leave it to the pros anyway. I can never be a doc with web MD just as I cant be a ant specialist with antwiki :)

Re: Hi all

Thanks! Again learning here and doing my best at the research. I was looking at glacialis earlier but the rear seemed to have a slightly different shape (maybe just the pic on ant wiki). According to the ant wiki they can be found in Alberta http://www.antwiki.org/wiki/Formica_glacialis - but I'll s...

Usually not a good idea for a founding queen to not do the test tube tingy but A) if there is mites, hopefully she can shake 'em off B) sometimes gotta work with what you've got. :D Has anyone ev...

Re: Question for Batspiderfish

I am new as well butI seem to end up looking at this website because you can get a list of species by country:

www.antwiki.org

Much easier to narrow down things.

Re: Hi all

The second pic is the best I could get, by the rear leg. I will try some more when she positions herself just right. Don't have a test tube right now so making due with another small container which makes things harder to get photos. She has eaten some honey offered and "buried" the rest (covered it...

Re: Hi all

That was the first time I saw her curled up. She does have a twitchy leg - very front left, not all the time though. That appendage looks like a little tiny leg though. Very docile otherwise. If she does have mites it may be a small scale infection but I would be very sad.
