Today in Nevada Camponotus flights have began, as of today 4/8/19.

I was just in CA and found many queens in pools many of which where still alive, if you have access to a pool you could probably find some queens.

many of my queens laid eggs and brought them to adulthood. I then feed them a little almond chunk. The strange thing is non of them have laid new eggs. Then some of them just died without reason (they died in early fall, not hibernation).

I don't believe they do, but i have 2 Formica queens they laid one egg each then the workers came, I feed them but they haven't laid any more eggs. So if you found it under something she might have all ready laid her egg, but i'm not sure.

It appears to be a Formica ant.

It is some form of camponotus worker, or it is semi claustral.

Has any one seen any pheidole ants or queens i would like a colony.

look for them at about noon in recently wet area or under pots you still might be able to catch them but it is late.
