Help on combining Polyrhachis Dives queens
r/antkeeping Help on combining Polyrhachis Dives queens u/Nuzzorama I am a beginner antkeeper based out of Taiwan. I have 2 small (25 nanitic) solenopsis invicta colonies and 2 Polyrhachis Dives queens. I don't think I will keep the Solenopsis colonies much longer and I really want to the Polyrhachi...

Re: Ant ID Northern Taiwan 7/13
I realized I was say incandescent instead of iridescent... whoops! I got a large magnifying glass and took an even closer look at her. It turns out that she has all the typical spikes of a Polyrhachis Dives or Polyrhachis Wolfi, After seeing them in person I realized they are actually shown ...

Thanks! Yes, it looks amazing with the gold color and incandescent satin appearance. Too bad the photos don't show off it's true colors.

Re: Queen ID Northern Taiwan
Sorry for being a total noob, pictures below. They measure around .7 or .8 cm long. They are very calm in their tubes, but tend to pull on the cotton. They're a reddish brown color and the thorax is a little darker with reddish sides. http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah169/sharklaser111/20180708_...

All of them were found wandering on the sidewalk or street, except the one that landed on my hand. Two had wings and one lost it's...
