Re: Is Vinyl tubing Toxic?
Simple dish soap is preferred simply fill sink with hot water and soap mix. Rub the outside with any sort of cloth or sponge. The inside is the trick part. Depending on length simply 'capping' one end and 'swishing' the soap water in it for about 2 to 5 minutes is the no tool way if you have pipe cl...

Re: Warm up my queen with heating cable?
I'd suggest trying to make a rack to set the tube on top of and have a gap underneath to put the cable that way if you need to adjust then add or subtract distance rather than putting a potential risk of fire such as flammable materials . Personally. I don't have much experience with heating cables....

Re: Warm up my queen with heating cable?
Okay. A couple of thoughts on the subject. Camponotus prefer drier nests. This is important when deciding where to put any heat. Too close to the water it will start to raise the humidity of a nest as the water heats up and evaporates through the nest. They may become unhappy with the level of humid...

Re: Is Vinyl tubing Toxic?
Okay first was it washed before you used it. Alot of the times factories aren't up to code when it comes to plastics and health issues. If there is a strong smell I would give it a couple of wash with some very hot water and soap rinse and repeat 3 times rinsing 3 times after all soap washing is don...

Re: Ant queen identification

Re: Possible budding??
This may be the case. Another theory similar is this is a foreign queen thats mated and found this nest and they had accepted her into their colony. If however seeing the photo it does appear she has mated. If you do take workers with her if she is part of their colony already there's no worries to ...

has the team been throwing around an actual store?
Just curious if the idea of starting an actual ant store/insect care business with actual stores around the world and/or atleast canada ( ;)) and if not. Could this be brought up? It's becoming apparent that insect love is growing quite steadily and I think it could eventually become a viable busine...
