Hey guys,
I caught a camponotus queen on July 9, she never laid eggs but she’s still alive and seems fine. Is it possible for her to hibernate and then lay eggs next year? Just surprised she never laid when I caught her so early. Thanks for the advice!

GAN Project Improvement Suggestion
Hey guys, I wish I could subscribe to my state on the GAN project page so I would be notified by email or text or whatever when something changes in my state. For example, you could send an email when a new GAN farmer is added or when an existing GAN farmer lists additional queens. Justin idea. Than...

Formica Incerta Care
Hey guys, After a lot of research I believe I have nailed down the species of my first ever queen to Formica incerta. Any tips on caring for these guys? Should I be expecting a thriving colony if I only have one queen and they are polygynous? I already have some eggs that now look like little worms!...

Re: 3 Queens in 1 Test Tube?
Thanks for the info! Going to separate them this morning. I’ll post an update on the 3 later on, paying attention to how the ones without the eggs do in comparison to how the one with the eggs does

3 Queens in 1 Test Tube?
Hey guys, I bought a tetramorium immigrans queen through the GAN project and the test tube came with 3 queens in it. There are a bunch of eggs in there. Everything I’ve watched from AntsCanada says I should not keep 3 queens together, are these different? Should I separate them or can they coexist? ...

Queen? Camponotus?
Hey guys, Just caught today, 7/9/2018, in Central New Jersey, US. Looks like a queen to me, but I’m a newb. It’s about 3/4 of an inch(17-18mm), maybe a little less. The ruler in the pic is in inches. Anyone know if it’s a queen and if so the genus and species? https://imgur.com/gallery/Up4fXTv Thank...

Re: New Jersey Ant ID Please
Thank you! Look like a queen to you? This would be my first queen, so naturally I’m skeptical! Also, I ordered the tetramorium setup from AntsCanada. Would that work for Formica ants?

Re: Queen? Species?
Good to know! I’ve always been into herps, so the bright colors made me think it was a good idea not to play with. Thank you!
