Re: HELP... Queen moved too early

What do you mean by you moved her out of her testtube? did you just dump her into an outworld? If so just place the testtube in there and if she walks in then you can keep her in there again. Also what species is she?

Re: Disaster

Hello there, I assume that the eggs or brute were kind if washed away or smashed during their great flood. Sorry to read this. I imagine that you didn't use enough cotton so it was rather easy for the queen and workers to pull it out. What you could do is make sure that the cotton is a bit thicker s...

Re: Compo.Penn/Novae Care: Brood in Stassis?

Hey, Well usually the ants prefer the dark. I could also imagine that their setup is not humid enough. Maybe add a little bit of water. Usually camponotus prefers it dry but they also like some areas a little humid. On https://www.antstore.net/shop/de/Ameisen/Ameisen-aus-Amerika/Camponotus-pennsylva...

Re: Tube size?

Hey,

I don't really know what you mean with "tube no". It does not really matter if the tubes are long. More important is how wide the tubes diameter on the inside are. Also the queen will probably be able to squeete through most of her tubes.

Re: WHY IS MY QUEEN NOT LAYING EGGS? ITS A QUEEN FOR SURE

Yes. I would only recommend a little droplet and then leave it at that. Of course cleaning it up 2-3 days later to keep the setup as clean as possible. So maybe get ride of the remaining honey tomorrow and then just wait. I read something about 50 days until an egg has fully developped into a worker...

Re: Queen ant removing cotton to other test tube

Yes. I feel the same thought. I also guess that the new testtube is too big or spacious for he so she doesn't want to move yet. I would just close the whole thing, put it in a dark spot and then wait until she got her first workers. If you feel that she is too cramped in then you can tip her with al...

Re: Best escape prevention?

I don't think you need to evacuate the ants each time. also I personally use teflon. I bought it at antstore.net and so far it has proven a very good barrier for my setups. I noticed that it is not super sentitiv if you spray some water over it but I would of course avoid throwing too much water at ...

Re: Ant emergency

Ok here some ideas for you. If you want to keep them then place the plant in an aquarium as you wrote. Maybe add some extra soil. Next you need to have a barrier so they can't climb out of the aquarium. Ideal would be if the aquarium had a lid around the top so they have an even harder time to escap...
