Founding queen eggs not growing
I've had a C. Herculeanus queen for around 7 weeks and a L. Niger queen for 3 weeks. Both queens have laid eggs and i check on the every week. Identify this queen ty
I found her at around 1 pm and she is 9 mm long. The gaster seems too small for it to be a Lasius Niger. It might even be a male i have no idea. Sorry if the pics are bad i really cant take better ones with my phone. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/461832337601200135/461832461509459978/201806...

Re: Identify queen ty
I think i already stressed her enough i will take a new pic when the workers arrive.Batspiderfish wrote: ↑Tue Jun 26, 2018 11:04 amThe queen is poorly lit and barely visible. You will need more photos to have a chance of narrowing it down to the species.

Re: Identify queen ty
There are only 4 different species for Camponotus ants in Finland. I'm not sure which one it is cuz 3 of them look very similar. Does any1 know if it's C. herculeanus, C. fallax or C. vagus. Also this is my first colony so a bit of help with the species diet and what kinds of nests they like would h...

Re: My queen ant won't lay eggs?
I've had 2 ant queens for 2 weeks now and only 1 of them has laid eggs. It might take a little more time. Also do you keep your tube in the dark?

My friend gave me two ants in Finland but im not sure if its a Camponotus or Formica ant. I'm pretty sure its too big to be a Lasius Niger. It's about 2 cm long Also is the test tube too small for her. I was planning on keeping a Lasius queen but I'm not sure if this size works for these ants https:...
