That is a Camponotus Pennsylvanicus queen.

That is a bullet ant or Paraponera Clavata. Thank you for adding measurements. It is most definitely a Lasius. May possibly be Flavus or Niger, but it is most likely Flavus. Please Remember Measurements next time!

I just caught another queen yesterday (6/29/18) and I need some help. I suspect she may be Lasius Niger, but I am not sure I added measurements this time but just for good measure.......... she is 10mm long / .5 inches long. Is it normal for a queen to have a deflated gaster?I It usually depends on a couple of factors: What species is the queen? Does the queen still have wings? (she may not have mated) Has the queen laid eggs? How long have you had the queen? What I suspect the reason could be is, the queen has eggs in...

Help ID Species
I just recently caught a queen on 6/5/18. I placed her in a test tube setup and she immediately started laying eggs. I suspect she may be a Camponotus Castaneus, but I am not sure.
