You might, first of all, make sure that the ants outside the test tube and inside the test tube are of the same species if not, it's evident that they aren't from the tube, if they seem to be from the same species you have two options: the first one, pick an ant from the test tube, one from outside ...

Ant identification

Hello! So I'm pretty sure that this is a Crematogaster Scuterallis ant, but what I don't really know is if this is an ant worker or a queen.

Oh, I didn't expected that they were Tetramorium, rather I thought they were Lasius or Camponotus. A lot of thanks ^^

Like you said, she doesn't need food at this point, probably it's just that, I don't think that any ant dislikes honey, at least from Camponotus, she (and the colony) needs to eat proteins and sugar, if it's Camponotus you will need to give them dead insects (wait until the conoly it's larger to giv...

It seems like a Camponotus floridanus, this ant lives on Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, you live in the east of Tennessee, but thats near North Carolina, well, you have the queen, try to see for yourself if it's a Camponotus floridanus, if not, I hope you ...
