I keep a species of red carpenter ant native to south central Pennsylvania, the colony is about two years old and numbers in about 70 to 80 workers, with tons of brood and fresh clumps of eggs. Thanks but the 'thing' has moved to the gasters.If it is a mite i can take it off with tweesers!I'm quiet new to the ant world but if isn't debris it could be a mite so watch out. But don't trust me and ask for more experimented people to answer.

She looks darker than an Formica pallidefulva queen but her gaster is tiny!!!!
