My ligniperda colony was very forgiving when it came to disturbances; I even dropped their test tube once . Now they are a few hundred workers strong.

Definitely Camponotus, but not sure on the exact species.

Maybe Tapinoma? Size is right, and they are flying here in Europe.

Where are you from? That would really aid in identification. Also, that petiole doesn't look like Camponotus.

Yesterday, I caught a Tapinoma nigerrium queen at about 1 o'clock on a sunny day after a rain shower. Also saw at least two Linepithema humile queens running around. A question; does anyone have information on keeping Tapinoma nigerrium? ie. egg to worker?

Here in Germany I caught a Tetramorium queen in late May and another one about a week ago, both at about 10 o'clock in the morning. I would keep your eyes peeled right around now.
