Plain baby powder is very messy though, right? Also it's a small container with no exit as the lid has been covered with material, only a small area exists for air flow. When looking up Formica Subsericea it matches the picture identically, the body has some small shinyish stripes to match as well

Is this formica or camponotus? Also what is a common name for formica subsericea?

Just caught this big queen today! Seems there are a bunch of this species out right now!

Caught in Northeast USA, Alone and walkin about! The it is about a half inch long. Don't know species or anything.
Also are Acorn Ants super small? Think I caught a queen of that species too :p

Queen identification help

I caught this wild queen in north-eastern USA, is about 3/4 of a cm long and the ants it was with were small black ants, living under a rock and part of my driveway. Caught walking on the surface.
