Found a tetramorium alate in a pool today in the Chicago suburbs. Hoping they will be flying tomorrow!

I currently have a camponotus Queen who started laying eggs about 9 days ago. I am about to move to a new apartment about 20 minutes away and I’m wondering what the best option for transporting her is. Their flights happen in very early morning (4-6am) but you should be able to find the mated queens throughout the day once they have flown

That looks like Tetramorium Sp. E (pavement ants) they should be flying soon they fly May to end of July with most in June.

I captured 2 Camponotus queens. The first on 5/29 and the second on 6/1. The first queen was infected with some kind of maggots but the second queen is alive and well with 7 eggs.
