It seems like a worker. But don’t lose hope! If there are workers, there are nuptial flights. Also i’m not an expert, so i can’t tell for sure, but usually queens have larger gasters! :D

i just realized Camponotus pennsylvanicus doesn't live in Bulgaria :? ... It's almost by sure a Camponotus, for it's dimension and location, i think Camponotus vagus. (Black Camponotus sp. ants are really similiar :shock: ) Camponotus vagus is fully claustral too :)

From what i know, mold is totally normal. But if you make it grow too much dangerous bacteria could multiply and harm your ants. The easiest solution is making her change test tube. If she doesn’t have eggs, it will be pretty easy. If she has eggs, then you should stick your queen’s test tube and an...

It seems like Camponotus pennsylvanicus to me. That species is fully claustral, so you don’t need to feed it when she cares for her eggs/larvae/pupae. But i’m not an expert so maybe i didn’t guess the right species.

Also i forgot to say the queen is about 5,2 mm.
It seems like tetramorium caespitum to me.

My first queen(?) identification

I found a strange ant in my backyard today. I never seen an ant like that, so i took it. Her gaster is half of her dimension. Here’s a photo Image
