I´m sure that they are not pupae but hatched ants because the pupae have yellowish color in them and hatched ants are pure white. Good news is that today two of my queens have active worker ants! Other one has five and the other has one. I think that their exoskeletons were still hardening like Clas...

I have nine Lasius sp. queens and all of them have eggs, larvae & pupae. I checked on them few days ago and saw hatched workers in their test tubes but the thing about this is that they were all white and not moving. My garden was full of these ladies! They are the first queens I've had in test-tube setups and I'd like to know what species they are.

A queen found in Finland, Satakunta, 31.5.-18, Formica?

I found this ant in a forest while I was camping with my class. She's now in this thing which I believe is a Petri dish in English. That's just temporary, I have not received my test tubes yet. She's the first queen I've ever catched and I'd like to know what species she might be. She's around 15mm ...
