If you provide constant and plentiful protein and sugars i am sure they will double in size this year. The more full stomachs to feed the hungry queen and larvae the better.

Look into Prenolepis imparis also.

Fruits are very good for big colonies but not for small colonies because they don't eat them fast enough so they start to mold. If you have a very dried nest actual sugar works and actual sugar dos not really mold. Small 1/4 in or less cuts of organic apple are great for my first nanitics. No mess ...
