Male ant. Too hard to identify from the pictures. You'll want to take them in better light.
How can you tell it's a male I didn't even think about that? I will try to get and post better pictures tomorrow.

Re: Formica Sanguinea Queen

If the queen is from the same nest as the brood I do not see an issue, an issue may arise if they are from a different colony. If this is the case there are a few possibilities. As Formica Sanguinea is a slave-making species (see Wikipedia; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formica_sanguinea) this may w...

Queen Ant Identification

I have recently found this girl and am having trouble identifying myself. Sorry, the pictures may be a bit blurry, she is hard to focus on, if they are too bad to identify I can try round 2, just let me know. One day I hope to be able to identify all the ants from the area. Location: Cincinnati, Ohi...

Possible Queen, ID needed

I recently found this ant on a wall, it looks like a queen but is fairly small so I am uncertain of queen status and species. Any help is appreciated.
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
Size: ~ 10mm

Thank you in advance.

Queen Ant Identification

I found this ant in Cleveland, Ohio. I believe it is a Camponotus pennsylvanicus queen. I am fairly certain it is Camponotus but not entirely sure of her Queen status. There appear to be scars on the thorax but I would love another opinion.
Thank you,
