Re: Camponotus Castaneus not eating!

What I worry about is I don't see any new workers at all. I think she is now down to two the last time I looked. I haven't been able to give them sugar water as i don't have a tower to put it in but I think ill get one. Are live crickets needed or are the freeze dried type ok?

Hello everyone, I currently have two colonies of Crematogaster ants. One colony has 5 workers and the other had 3. The issue that Ive been having is these workers are dumb as rocks and keep drowning themselves in the tiny droplet of honey I gave them somehow. This has happened twice now, once in bot...

Re: Can I get some help identifying this (possible) Queen?

Small update: She has laid eggs now almost a more than a month ago. The eggs started extremely small, barely visible, but have now grown to about the size of half a grain of rice. The queen has a fairly large pile so hopefully, they all are able to hatch! :D :D

Yes, that was just two water droplets that got stuck on her. At first, i thought it may have been a mite but they have since gone away.

AntNoob1, I cant get a very clear picture of the gaster, but from what I can tell there is no acid pore. It is about 1 cm in length. I will keep trying to get a decent picture for you.

Can I get some help identifying this (possible) Queen?

Hello, I caught what I think to be a queen in late November of last year in New Jersey, US. I have kept it in a test tube setup through winter and it has survived and now become more active as it has gotten warmer. When I first caught it, it had wings that have since fallen off, and it occasionally ...
